Despite his skills, Fox News Sunday interview exposes why Newt Gingrich won’t be a serious nominee for President

Because he toyed with the media about running for President four years ago, there has been a lot of deserved skepticism about how serious Newt Gingrich is about running for the Republican nomination for President in 2012 – and he didn’t really clarify the issue this weekend.

There’s no doubt that the 67 year old would like to be President – but it costs a lot of money and energy to put in a full fledged effort, and the possibility that he would be a viable candidate to defeat Barack Obama, based on his extensive baggage, both on a political and personal scale, remains a large question mark.

But it was Gingrich’s responses to two questions posed by Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace that exposed him as being unprepared to be a credible candidate.

The first was on the obvious: How Gingrich, like so many of his conservative brethren, suffers from such a visceral disdain for Barack Obama and his policies that it obscures his own real feelings on any public policy issue. Translated? If Obama is for it, you’ve gotta be against it.

On the biggest story in the world right now, the U.S. and its Europeans (and Arab) allies engaged in Libya, Gingrich literally was for the U.S. creating a no-fly zone before he was against it, forcing him on Sunday to give a tortured explanation for his obvious contradiction in his opinion (not the first time for Newt , just the latest and most baldly explicit).

Little Hitlers all over the place.  In the Mosques, on TV, being viewed by millions of children who grow up with this poison accompanied by their mother's anti-Semitic milk. One wouldn't believe this is all taking place in the years of the 2000's + , but it is.  I hope my father, who went through and survived the holocaust, doesn't see this.If you are a Jew, or a Jew lover, this is what they are saying about YOU.  After the infidel Jews, are the infidel Christians.

The Two Coming American Revolutions

The Enemy of my Enemy is NOT my Friend.
In the late 1700′s there were two historic revolutions, the American and the French Revolutions. The American Revolution was very much an intellectual revolution as  much as it was a military revolution. In the years before the first shot  was fired, American Patriots laid the intellectual foundation for the  American Revolution. They worked on what America should be and not so  much of what they were against. The original Sons of Liberty mounted an  intellectual assault on the Empire that the sun never set on. By the  time the first shot was fired, our founding fathers had spent years  carefully crafting a political and economic system that would ready for  when they had control of their destiny.  This system sought to  decentralize power so that no Elite could seize power. They also created  a Free Market economic system that would ensure the prosperity of  future generations. This eventually led to the most powerful nation the  world has ever seen.

Apple (AAPL) works pretty hard to avoid controversy in the “walled garden” environment of its iTunes App Store. Nothing especially lewd or racy is allowed in, for example, and Apple sets the standards of when a thing is too violent, too disgusting, or too much of whatever it is Apple kicks apps out of the gate for being.

Not currently on the list of things an app can’t be, however, is anti-gay, or at least that’s what some activists and protesters are saying about a certain app that has been available to download free since Feb. 15. Exodus International, a Christian group that claims to “cure” homosexuals of their homsexuality, released the app of the same name last month to the outrage of many.

The app doesn’t necessarily purport to do the same, but it does provide information about events, stream video and podcasts and provide blog entries about the issue, all with a stance that homosexuality is wrong and that gay people need to be changed. The app has made quite a few people, including gay rights groups, very angry. A story in The Atlantic reports that 90,000 people have already virtually signed a petition on Change.org demanding that Apple remove the app.

Donald Trump Runs for President – Obama, “You’re Fired!”

Donald is more of a media mogul today than an astute businessman.  He has declared bankruptcy over three times, and like most failed businessmen is now trying to take a stab at the political world.  In 2012, Mr. Trump plans to run for the U.S. presidency.  It looks like ratings on Celebrity Apprentice are going to his head.  Governor Arnold made it in California, so what can keep Trump from the White House?  We all know that California is basically a bankrupt state; I wonder what the U.S. will potentially look like in 2016, by the end of Trump’s first term?

Family Feud: Do Republicans Need A Therapist?

by Dr. Susan Berry
In the wake of the passage of a continuing resolution (C.R.) by the House and the Senate, that will keep the federal government running for another three weeks, Republican leaders and fiscally conservative members of Congress appear to be not getting along.
A group of 54 House Republicans voted against this latest C.R., which cut $6 billion in spending, up from the six members who voted against the first resolution two weeks ago. House Republicans like Michele Bachmann (MI), Mike Pence (IN), and Jeff Flake (AZ), and Senate Republicans like Jim DeMint (SC), Rand Paul (KY), and Marco Rubio (FL) voted against the stopgap measure.
These fiscal conservatives, supported by the Tea Party, have been critical of the Republican leadership’s decision not to use the C.R. spending plan as leverage against the Democrats and the White House on the defunding issues, such as the over $105 billion in continuing Obamacare spending, and funding for Planned Parenthood. Conservative critics of Speaker John Boehner (OH) and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (VA) say that failure of the leadership to act now with deep cuts will lead Republicans on the path to becoming the minority once again. In addition, conservatives worry that if Republican leaders are happy with “chump change” spending cuts, as they “compromise” with the Democrats, they will be likely to cave in when discussions begin about the debt ceiling within a couple of weeks.

Are We On Our Way To Gettysburg?

The nightly newsreel rolls and we watch in fascination as our friend and ally Japan struggles to regain its bearings after nature’s devastating one-two-punch seems to have set them up for a potential nuclear knock-out.

Boosting the ratings of the wall-to-wall news channels we sit for hours glued to the scenes of devastation waiting to be amazed by the most recently discovered views of water overtaking land in a world where every phone is a video camera.  The destruction of this latest mega-tragedy is reminiscent of World War II after America paid back Pearl Harbor in spades and today’s situation even has an atomic twist at the end.  One major difference is that this time we are all praying that our partners in the land of the rising sun won’t have to surrender.

Obama Dithered, People Withered

It took Barack Obama nearly a month to complete his action plan for Libya.

His Plan? Transfer the intensely hot potato to the United Nations, the Arab League, France, England, and others in a tight little group of “willing” nations, not including the United States.
Despite all the time it took Obama to decide which way to go, he still failed to enunciate a final objective, an exit strategy.
Namely, what is to become of Moammar Gadhafi? Will the Libyan devil be allowed to retain power by caving in to the demands of the UN?

Braves coach loses eye after hit by line drive - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP)—Atlanta Braves minor league manager Luis Salazar has lost an eye after he was struck in the face by a line drive while watching a spring training game.

Braves general manager Frank Wren said Wednesday that doctors were unable to save Salazar’s left eye after the accident March 9. The former major league player is otherwise recovering from his injuries and expects to manage Lynchburg of the Class A Carolina League this season.

The 54-year-old Salazar was standing against the railing on the top step of the dugout during a game between the Braves and St. Louis Cardinals when Brian McCann(notes) fouled a ball in his direction. Salazar was unable to get out of the way and fell head-first back into the dugout.

The game was stopped for almost 20 minutes so Salazar could be airlifted to an Orlando hospital. He regained consciousness on the way and was treated for multiple facial fractures, but doctors were unable to save his left eye.

“In the big picture, and that’s what we have to keep in mind, this is a good outcome,” Wren said. “He’s alive.”

McCann was badly shaken and didn’t return when the game resumed. He visited Salazar in the hospital and has stayed in touch.

“It’s a crazy, crazy thing that happened,” McCann said the day after Salazar was struck. “So unfortunate. You feel hopeless.”

Wren said that Salazar would spend about a week at home in Boca Raton, Fla., and then return to Braves camp at some point this spring. The minor-league season begins April 7 and Salazar had been serving as an extra major league coach when struck.

“Doctors have told us and him that there is no reason why, in about four or six weeks, he can’t manage his team as he anticipated,” Wren said.

Salazar is in his first year with the Braves organization.

Conyers: Obamacare Is ‘Platform’ for Creating Single-Payer System

(CNSNews.com) – Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, told CNSNews.com today that the health-care law that President Barack Obama signed last March is a “platform” for a building single-payer health care system in the U.S.

During a newsmakers program at the National Press Club on Monday, Conyers said that after discussing the issue with Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D.-Ohio) he voted for the health-care law because he saw it as a necessary “platform” for building toward a single-payer health-care system in the United States.

Speaking with CNSNews.com after the event at the National Press Club, Conyers said, “What we’re trying to do is insure everybody, right? We’re trying to insure more people, not less and so it’s my feeling that the rising costs that are going on will not be solved by getting rid of people’s health insurance–that throws them into emergency rooms and charity and other things. That’s why HR 676 is our ultimate solution–is that everybody’s insured from birth on and that’s what we’re still fighting for.”

Support for repeal is at a 10-month high, with the number that Strongly Favors repeal at its highest level to date. Overall support for repeal has ranged from a low of 50% to a high of 63% since Democrats in Congress passed it a year ago. The Republican-led House of Representatives voted earlier this year to repeal the law, but the repeal effort is stalled in the Democratic-controlled Senate

Doctors say Giffords making 'leaps and bounds'

HOUSTON (AP) - Doctors for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords say she is making "leaps and bounds" in her recovery from a gunshot wound to the head.

Doctors held a news conference in Houston where they provided an update on the congresswoman's progress. They say her memory and speech are improving, and she is walking with assistance. She also speaks in full sentences, such as "I'm tired and want to go to bed."

While her memory is improving, she does not recall the shooting that wounded her and 12 others and killed six people.

Dr. Dong Kim says doctors still want her to improve enough to attend her husband's space shuttle launch, but it's too early to tell. He says they expect to reattach her skull at some point in May. She now wears a helmet that covers her head.

Bahrain and the Battle Between Iran and Saudi Arabia

The world’s attention is focused on Libya, which is now in a state of civil war with the winner far from clear.

While crucial for the Libyan people and of some significance to the world’s oil markets, in our view, Libya is not the most important event in the Arab world at the moment. The demonstrations in Bahrain are, in my view, far more significant in their implications for the region and potentially for the world. To understand this, we must place it in a strategic context.

James O’Keefe Does it Again - The End of NPR

Conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe gets his camera into the most interesting places. The other day, he slipped it into a lunch meeting between National Public Radio executives and two men they believed were representatives of a Muslim Brotherhood front group.

As reported by Matthew Boyle at The Daily Caller, the NPR executives were not at all suspicious of these “Muslim Brotherhood” agents, who said they wanted to donate $5 million to counter “Zionist coverage” that is “quite substantial elsewhere” in the media. They came equipped with a fake website that announces their goal as “spreading acceptance of shari’a law throughout the world.”

NPR senior executive Ron Schiller was happy to help. He nodded uncritically when it was suggested that “Jews do kind of control the media,” and compared the struggle of Muslims to make their voices heard “in our schools, on the air” to (of all things) the women’s suffrage movement. “It’s the same thing we faced as a nation when we didn’t have female voices,” he asserted. Of course, there are plenty of female voices heard in the Muslim Brotherhood. They sound like Kenny from “South Park” because they’re muffled by burkas, but if you listen carefully, you can almost make out what they’re saying.

The US Senate was gearing up for two symbolic votes on the budget, amid signs that some moderate Democrats are wavering over their party’s position, which could weaken the White House’s hand in the negotiations.

In a speech on the floor of the upper chamber on Tuesday, Joe Manchin, the West Virginia Democrat running for re-election next year, said both his party’s proposal to cut $10.5bn from current spending levels, and the Republican plan to slash $61bn in government programmes, were “partisan and unrealistic”.
EDITOR’S CHOICE

Republicans wary over details of cuts - Mar-07
Social issues threaten US budget talks - Mar-07
Hardship on rise for middle class - Mar-07
Analysis: Military: A question of scale - Mar-06
Fiscal future hangs on US state disputes - Mar-04

Of the Democratic plan, Mr Manchin said it “ignores our fiscal reality, our nation is badly in debt and spending is at unsustainable levels”. He also attacked President Barack Obama: “Why are we doing all this when the most powerful person in these negotiations — our president — has failed to lead this debate or offer a serious proposal for spending and cuts that he would be willing to fight for?”

Of the Republican proposal, Mr Manchin said it “blindly hacks the budget with no sense of our priorities or our values as a country”.

Both plans were expected to be rejected in procedural votes in the Senate on Tuesday, but the extent to which there are defections from party lines on both sides could offer a glimpse of who has the upper hand in the budget talks.

The White House and congressional leaders need to find common ground on the nature and level of spending by March 18, or face a partial shutdown of the federal government.

Roubini Sees Double Dip for Advanced States If Oil Hits $140

By Arif Sharif and Alaa Shahine | Bloomberg

Nouriel Roubini, the economist who predicted the global financial crisis, said an increase in oil prices to $140 a barrel will cause some advanced economies to slide back into recession.

Underlying how fragile the global economic recovery is, Roubini said the European Central Bank may be making a mistake by raising interest rates “too soon” when debt-ridden countries on the euro region’s periphery struggle to restore the competitiveness of exports.

“If you had the oil price going up to where it was in the summer of 2008, at $140 a barrel, at that point some of the advanced economies will start to double dip,” he told reporters in Dubai today. “In the U.S., where growth is accelerating fast, a 15 to 20 percent increase in oil prices, there won’t be double dip, but growth reaching a stalled speed again.”

Popular revolts sweeping the Middle East and North Africa, home to more than half of the world’s proven oil reserves, have pushed Brent crude-oil prices close to $120. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. raised its forecast for Brent crude in the second quarter of the year to $105 a barrel amid fighting in Libya between Muammar Qaddafi and rebels seeking to end his four-decade rule.

Crude for April delivery fell as much as $2.11 to $103.33 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, and was at $105 at 5:19 p.m. in Dubai. Yesterday, the contract settled at $105.44, the highest since Sept. 26, 2008. Prices are up 27 percent from a year ago.

“Critics (of Arctic drilling), including Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., say the drilling plan would violate the nation’s last remaining pristine wilderness. Moreover, they charge, the oil would consist of a 6-month supply for the nation, and would not be ready for use by consumers for up to 10 years.”

Crosstalk Podcasts: A Burqa for Lady Liberty

Walid Shoebat is a former Palestinian terrorist and Muslim Brotherhood member who understands the mindset, motivation, strategy and history of the Islamic jihad. Shoebat disputes the Western media’s portrayal that this is a pro-democracy movement and explains instead how the revolution serves the Muslim Brotherhood’s objective to resurrect the Turkish Ottoman Empire, ruled by a Sharia caliphate.
The Islamic group that had pledged to have a pro-sharia rally outside the White House last week abruptly canceled their plans and announced they were going to cover the Statue of Liberty in a Burqa instead. This group has the goal of Islamic domination for the United States.
Outlandish ideas like putting a burqa on Lady Liberty or destroying it and putting up a minaret go well beyond typical Islamist “talking points” such as Islam being a peaceful religion. These points are apparently very effective as Walid points to in the blessing given to the Muslim Brotherhood by Barack Obama concerning their involvement in the restructuring of Egypt.
Why is Sharia law incompatible with our Bill of Rights? What could happen if Americans continue to remain in the dark about the Qur’an and the Hadith? Walid sounds the alarm regarding these and other facets of the Islamic threat on this edition of Crosstalk.

To Save America, We Must Dethrone King Obama « « Eurasia Review Eurasia Review

Incredibly, Obama continues to boldly go where no other president has gone before. Apparently, none of the rules apply to him. Without consequence, at will, Obama ignores laws and the Constitution to implement his progressive/socialist agenda.

America’s first black president has morphed into America’s first king. All hail King Obama, our supreme ruler. Think about this folks, King Obama has put together his royal court of an unprecedented 32 czars who only answer to him. His czars consist of people who have socialist and communist leanings, many simply do not like America. King Obama’s czars, without congressional over sight, set new rules and regulations for our lives; boldly ignoring laws and the U.S. Constitution.

Given Obama’s unprecedented government overreaches, when we vote him out in 2012, will His Royal Obamaness surrender the Oval Office? Just kidding. Such a concern is a bit over the top. Right? Right?

Meanwhile, displaying an amazing total disregard for the sanctity of freedom, guess who cheers on Obama’s every unprecedented lawless “power grab” and dis of the Constitution; the despicable liberal media.

Most of the mainstream media are liberals promoting their progressive/socialist agenda while calling it journalism. A liberal black presidential candidate was their dream come true. Obama’s skin color was a gift from the liberal gods; the ultimate political trump card.

The Left exploits Obama’s black skin color as their “Weapon of Mass Intimidation”; a coat of armor insulating him from all opposition and reasonable critique.

Any supplicant daring to question or oppose His Royal Obamaness is forced to endure the liberal media’s “shock and awe” battery of accusations of racism and violent intentions.

Is it unfair to say Obama governs more like our king rather than our president? You be the judge.

Obamacare was ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge. King Obama basically said “screw that! I’m implementing it anyway”.

DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) is the law. King Obama said “I don’t like that law and we are not defending its constitutionality”. http://nation.foxnews.com/newt-gingrich/2011/02/25/gingrich-obama-sparks-constitutional-crisis-raises-impeachment-specter

A federal ruling said King Obama’s deep offshore drilling moratorium in Louisiana is illegal and ordered it lifted. Again, King Obama simply ignored the federal ruling.

Federal immigration law is much tougher than Arizona’s new Law. The Arizona law says if someone is stopped for a traffic violation or suspected of a crime, they must show proper ID. Well dah! All Americans are required to show ID in such situations. King Obama wants members of a special ethnic group to be protected from such inquiry. Thus, King Obama has declared the Arizona law racist and is suing Arizona for enforcing “federal law”. King Obama views illegals as potential future new democrat voting supplicants. http://www.examiner.com/statehouse-in-santa-ana/federal-immigration-law-is-much-tougher-than-arizona-s-new-law

King Obama wants to force health workers to perform abortions whether they like it or not. The “Conscience Rule” protects health workers who refuse to participate in abortions or other medical procedures that go against their moral and religious beliefs. King Obama is working on rescinding that law.

If we have learned nothing else from the passing of Obamacare against the will of 70% of the American people we learned, legal processes be damned, whatever King Obama wants, King Obama gets.

And, let us not forget that King Obama fired the CEO and took over a private sector auto company. Thus, the birth of King Obama Motors.

And what about King Obama’s seige of the banking industry. After accepting TARP money, a bank chairman read the tea leaves of things to come; government running his business and dictating salaries. He requested to pay back the TARP money with interest. King Obama denied the bank chairman’s request and threatened “adverse” consequences if he persisted. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123879833094588163.html

The new Black Panther Party is guilty of voter intimidation in Philadelphia. King Obama refuses to press charges against the new Black Panthers; now get this folks, because they are black. His royal enforcer, Attorney General, Eric Holder, who is black, told the House Appropriations subcommittee that the New Black Panther voter intimidation case demeans “my people.”

Holder went on to explain that the suffering of African Americans seeking the right to vote in the South in the 60s far surpass the intimidation white voters recently endured in Philadelphia. So much for any pretense of King Obama dispensing equal justice to all Americans. We’re talkin’ Affirmative Action justice.

King Obama is systematically taking control of every aspect of our lives. Cramming Obamacare down our throats was a huge step toward achieving his goal. Please read, “20 Ways ObamaCare Will Take Away Our Freedoms”. http://www.fireandreamitchell.com/2010/03/22/20-ways-obamacare-will-take-away-our-freedoms/

Exempting themselves, liberals are notorious for making rules for us supplicants. Queen Michelle Obama recently feasted on high calorie greasy bar-b-que spareribs while seeking to federally mandate/regulate menus and portion sizes in schools, restaurants and etc.

Bottom line, King Obama is out of control. In 2012, We The People MUST raise up with pitchforks of votes to end King Obama’s tyrannous reign. American as we know and love it could be lost. Defeat is not an option.

Premature to arm Libya rebels: White House

The United States said Monday it was considering whether to arm the Libyan opposition but said it would be premature to do so now, amid rising pressure on the White House over the crisis.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said US officials were seeking to learn as much as they could about Libyan opposition groups, but that offering weapons to opponents of Moamer Kadhafi was only one option on the table.

However, State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said it would be illegal for the United States to arm the opposition because of a UN Security Council banning all weapon shipments to Libya.

Carney told reporters: "On the issue of ... arming, providing weapons, it is one of the range of options that is being considered.

"We are pursuing a number of channels to have conversations and discussions with the opposition, groups and individuals, as we try to learn more about what they are pursuing, what they want.

"Speaking more generally, you have to be very cognisant however when you pursue these options of what it is you are trying to accomplish.

"It would be premature to send a bunch of weapons to a PO Box in eastern Libya, we need to not get ahead of ourselves," Carney said.

On Sunday, Republican Senate Republican minority leader Mitch McConnell called for the option of arming insurgents to be considered in Libya, further raising domestic political pressure on Obama over the issue.

Veteran diplomatic troubleshooter Bill Richardson, a Democrat, also made a similar call.

But Crowley said he understood such a move would violate action taken at the United Nations on February 26.

"In the UN Security Council resolution passed on Libya, there is an arms embargo that affects Libya, which means it's a violation for any country to provide arms to anyone in Libya," Crowley said.

"It would be illegal for the United States to do that," he added.
